This is a five lead thirty-seven bight knot, tied in silver, then doubled, with a strand of gold inserted between the silver strands. At full stretch, and minimum width, its diameter is slightly greater than three inches, but it can be compressed to smaller sizes, either left circular and worn as a bangle, or formed closely to the wrist in a "watch-band" configuration.
In the latter case, be prepared to leave it in place for long periods of time - I will not promise more than one or two successful expansions and compressions of bracelets made with 18K gold unless I do them myself, and none for platinum. Silver bracelets can be compressed and stretched twenty or more times without suffering anything worse than kinks and uneven loops.
